Very thankful for the all trails mapping because several points where we got off trail. relatively easy trail until the last mile where it gets a bit steeper. We stopped for some pictures and a quick bite to eat and went back. Upside of the rain was that the waterfall was raging. we used overfkow 1 mile awayParking is extremely limited, even during the week. No mountain bikes! So grab your favorite fly fishing rod and reel, and head out to South Fork Willow Creek.
Super tiny parking lot, tried to go on a Sunday at 8:30 and we couldn’t get a spot. Great trek for social distancing — not a lot of folks in the 4 hrs we were there. Thanks to everyone for an amazing past five years. The top is gorgeous with the falls. Getting there: The Willowbook Trailhead is in the Wildernest subdivision of Silverthorne. poor signage. Highly recommend!It was perfect! We enjoyed looking at the beautiful homes in the area.Trail is in good condition.

Besides that, amazing viewsgreat hike. South Fork Willow Creek is a stream located just 2.5 miles from Idaho Falls, in Bonneville County, in the state of Idaho, United States. The waterfall is worth the view.
It is a hard hike, lots of elevation, but a great workout. Nice acclimation trail, shaded, pretty heavily trafficked. Loved the hike though and we did our best to be aware and courteous of others, masks are advised for those tight sections of passing.
It’s definitely a moderate hike. Roots and rocks about 25 % of time.
Loved the trail and the water fall. Big meadow is beautiful with lots of wildflowers and a great view of Buffalo Mountain. We arrived around 11:00 and we were lucky to get a parking spot. This hike is a good moderate hike, it isn't easy though because of the up. Waterfall was nice, it was raining when we got there so we didn’t stay long but if would have been a great place for lunch and a beer.Challenging hike. Some areas of the trail are narrow and hard to pass other hikers.GO THIS WAY it is shorter than coming in from the Mesa trail. Great trail, some bridges out but still easy to cross!Nice trail! Parking can be a problem though. I would rate it on the lower end of “hard”. You will have about a one mile hike if you park there up to the trail head through some neighborhoods. Rained yesterday so was muddy at points. Falls are cool. If you are searching for hiking trails with waterfalls, the South Willow Falls is the perfect trail for you. This is the best time of year to visit the falls because the water is just gushing like crazy. If physical distancing due to COVID is important to you this trail is one you may want to save for a later date. Waterfall at end of trail is wonderful. But we waited a few minutes and a spot opened up. Lots of bugs for the last mile. Bring bug repellent! The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, running, and nature trips.Amazing waterfall. We saw so many unprepared, out of shape people hiking it that were having a hard time breathing. The hardest part is the rock scramble down just before halfway.
