It is certainly a better writer than the dud of a Pilot Falcon I had (which I realize is not indicative of the brand as a whole–I was just unlucky), and a slightly better/smoother writer than my Platinum 3776 Century. It’s also a nib that, after having used, is fun for playing around with, but one that I would not use for daily writing.Holding the pen in my normal writing position, I get a medium-broad line (especially for a Japanese pen.)
