I think the best thing about Earthquake was Walter Matthau as a drunk in a bar dressed up like a pimp still trying to get a drink when the bars coming down all around him.

Earthquake is a 1974 American disaster film that achieved huge box-office success, continuing the disaster film genre of the 1970s where recognizable all-star casts attempt to survive life or death situations. With other disaster movies, you have the actual disaster take up most of the runtime.
Of course the star of the film is the effects. This film might be enjoyed by fans of other disaster films of this period, but I've seen better overall and this one just doesn't end up being anything really good. I watched it with my subwoofer cranked to enjoy the uncompressed and skillfully mixed Sensurround™ track (is that patent still pending?). A highly typical disaster film from the mid 70s. !Das Bild der Blu Ray ist Mega !! Mystery & Suspense I was most taken with Victoria Principal as Rosa; she's cutely adorable as one of several damsels-in-distress and that "'fro" looked good on her. The U.S. must join forces with the U.S.S.R. in order to destroy a gigantic asteroid heading straight for Earth. Overall it's a decent affair that could have been much better.
